celtic-lady:

Blodeuwedd- “Flower face” She was created as a wife for Llew, who was cursed as a baby, by his mother, to never find a wife of his own people.
One day, when Llew was away, she met Gronw in the woods, and fell madly in love with him. Together, they plotted Llew’s death. Blodeuwedd, knowing Llew was no ordinary man, tricked him into revealing his death to her, and tricked him into being in the right place, at the right time.
However, Llew saw what was coming, and just before his death, transformed into an Eagle, and flew away.
Gwyddion, creator of Blodeuwedd, sought her out to seek his revenge.
She was turned into a bird that could only live by night, a carnivore feared by all other birds. He turned her into an Owl, and thus she lives, to this day.
